HEIC to JPG: how to convert iPhone photos
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11 in 2017. It uses HEVC codec to compress images to half the size of JPG without visible quality loss.
The problem appears when you send photos to someone on Windows, upload to a web form, or try to insert them in Word or PowerPoint. Windows doesn't open HEIC natively, and many websites reject the format.
